Position Overview

The Specimen Collector is responsible for Occupational Medicine activities and events, in collaboration with the Nurse Administrator, specifically focused on DOT drug and alcohol testing. This position also holds clerical and administrative responsibilities pertaining to the DOT drug and alcohol consortium and administrative responsibilities as needed, while on the road. This position includes a stipend for meals and travel allowances. Overnight travel is a requirement of this position.

Qualifications and Education

  • DOT Drug and Alcohol Collection Certification
  • Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

  • Drug and Alcohol Testing
  • Travel to separate sites in Maryland as needed to accommodate specimen donors

Secondary Responsibilities and Duties

  • Backup Support as needed within the occupational medicine nursing team in Virginia


  • Valid/current drivers license and reliable transportation
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Incorporation of company core values into the culture within the team and while representing CNS OccMed
